چکیده

Background Impaired microvascular reperfusion (no-reflow) and unsuccessful infarct-related artery (IRA) revascularization are associated with worse clinical outcome in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Successful reperfusion can be estimated by epciardial and microvascular flow. Both of them can be evaluated by angiography as Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) flow grade and myocardial blush grade (MBG). Moreover microvascular obstruction (MVO) determined by CMR is also a well known predictor of unfavorable clinical outcome after STEMI. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of impaired reperfusion estimated by angiography on microvascular obstruction and infarct size (IS) measured by CMR in STEMI.

Intracoronary compared with intravenous bolus abciximab application during primary percutaneous coronary intervention in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction: cardiac magnetic resonance substudy of the AIDA STEMI trial.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the AIDA STEMI (Abciximab i.v. Versus i.c. in ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) substudy was to investigate potential benefits of intracoronary versus intravenous abciximab bolus administration on infarct size and reperfusion injury in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. BACKGROUND The AIDA STEMI trial randomized 2,065 patients ...

Early electrocardiographic findings and MR imaging-verified microvascular injury and myocardial infarct size.

OBJECTIVES This study investigated early electrocardiographic findings in relation to left ventricular (LV) function, extent and size of infarction, and microvascular injury in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). BACKGROUND The electrocardiogram (ECG) is the most used and simplest clinical method to evaluate the risk for patien...

Effect of Intravenous FX06 as an Adjunct to Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

Methods In all, 234 patients presenting with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were randomized in 26 centers. FX06 or matching placebo was given as intravenous bolus at reperfusion. Infarct size was assessed 5 days after myocardial infarction by late gadolinium enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Secondary outcomes included size of necrotic core zone and microvascular ob...

Extent of infarct size and microvascular obstruction following unsuccessful reperfusion in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Background Impaired microvascular reperfusion (no-reflow) and unsuccessful infarct-related artery (IRA) revascularization are associated with a worse clinical outcome in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Reperfusion can be identified by epicardial or microvascular flow determined by angiography as Thr...
